Lots of old Hina dolls are displayed at Hita city in Oita from February 15th to March 31st. It is believed hina dolls protect girls from bad luck. Lets explore Hita city and enjoy Hina doll’s wearing beautiful KIMONO!
Admission is free in some places, and others admission fee is around 300yen to 500yen.
There is also an event called Nagashi-bina, in which dolls are floated down rivers to wash away bad luck. Nagashi-bina event is held at Keirinsou park in Hita city on March 6th. It starts from 10am and ends at 2pm
Take an express bus from Hakata bus terminal 3F to Hita city, (about 2 hours, 1750yen)
Take Shinkansen from Hakata station to Kurume station and transfer to JR Kyudai Hon-sen line and get off at Hita station. (about 1 hour and a half, 3110yen)
