This temple is located in Teramachi area which is old district and has some other temples around. There is the largest wooden sitting statue of Buddha in Japan in the temple. You can go inside the Buddha statue and see the small exhibition of hell. Access : 10mins walk from Hakata station. Karatsu Kunchi is an annual festival which takes place in Karatsu, Saga prefecture. There is a parade on each day with massive carrying floats. On the first day, the parade starts at 7:30pm carrying the floats decorated with lanterns. The second day is the main event. The parade starts at 9:30am with taiko drumming and calling out “En-ya, En-ya!!” “Yoi-sa, Yoisa!!” The last day, it starts at 10am and the floats are in front of Karatsu station around 12 at noon. It’s a great opportunity to take a look at traditional and latest Hakata-ori textile. It’s held at Jotenji Temple where it is said the birthplace of Hakata-ori textile. :)Admission Free. Access : 30 minutes walk from Khaosan Fukuoka. OR Take a subway from Hakata station to Gion station (1 minute, 100yen). Jotenji Temple is right there. Kieth Flack is a night club which has live DJs and also live bands located in Oyafuko, Tenjin. They sometimes invite famous DJs on weekends!! On the first floor, there is a lounge where you can have some food and drinks. Only open from Tuesday to Thursday. The second floor is the main floor!!
