Ornamental dolls are displayed around this day in Japan.

In Yanagawa city, many citizens open their houses to the public to show their dolls during Sagemon-Meguri festival.

Hakushu Festival Waterway Parade 2011 @ Yanagawa City, November 1st – 3rd

[ 2011/11/01 5:30 PM to 2011/11/03 9:00 PM. ] Hakushu Kitahara is one of the most famous poet in Japan, who passed away on Nov. 2nd, 1942. This festival is the anniversary of his death.
More than 100 boats decorated with lanterns will float down the Yanagawa river at night
At the climax, about 1000 of fireworks will light up the sky in autumn!!

Okinohata Suitensu Festival @ Yanagawa, May 3rd – 5th

Very interesting festival is held in Yanagawa Southern city in Fukuoka Prefecture.
Yanagawa is famous for a city of water ways.
Music and ceremonies are showed on a floating stage made from canal boats tied together at this festival.
Enjoy looking around the stalls on the streets by the canal!
