Take a bus No. 44 from Mizuho, the closest bus stop from the hostel, to Yahoo Dome-mae ,about 40min 220yen.
On weekends, not so many buses run on this route.
You can take a subway from Hakata station to Tojinmachi station, 15min 250yen and 10min walk from the station.

“Hakata Gion Yamakasa” festival will take place from July1st to July 15th. On July 8th, “Hakata Gion Yamaksa Walk & Learn Tour” will take place. Let’s join it! “Hakata Gion Yamakasa” is the biggest summer festival in Fukuoka city. It has 770years old history and it has been loved by Hakata people. This festival will be held from July 1st to July 15th. During the festival, gorgeous “Kazariyama”,(decorated floats), covered with beautiful dolls made by skilled Hakata doll makers, are set up in various places throughout the city. The climax event, “Oiyama” will start from 4:59am on July 15th! Hundreds of man run the course, carrying the “Kaki-yamakasa” floats! Don’t miss it!!!

This is the main event of this festival. It starts from 4:59am. Please take subway#Kukou line  from Hakata station, and get off at Nakasu kawabata, Gion or Gofukumachi station. The special subway runs from 4:34am on July 15th.

Rainy season has come to Fukuoka!!! At Hakozakigu shrine, beautiful hydrangea is in full bloom now! Generally, hydrangeas bloom during the rainy season in Japan, so it’s the best season to see hydrangea, let’s go  to Hakozaki-gu to see hydrangea!
