Leiji Matsumoto was born in Fukuoka and become a famous creator of anime and manga series.
His best known works are “Space Battleship Yamato” and “Galaxy Express 999”.

This is one of the most popular events during Golden Week in Japan!!
About 2million people visit this festival every year!!
The main event is a parade.
Many different groups join the parade to show variety of dancing, singing.
The festival starts from the afternoon to the evening.
There is not only a parade but some stage shows and many food stalls as well!!

Tall Ships are coming to the port of Nagasaki!!
The port of the Edo period in Nagasaki is reproduced at this festival.
During the Edo period (1603-1868), Dejima in Nagasaki was the only one place of direct trade and exchange between Japan and the outside world.
Let’s explore inside a tall ship and see sailors!

The show is held on April 23rd and 24th, starts from 1pm till 4pm.

On the Golden Week, Arita Ceramic Fair is held and
attracts more than a million people every year.
There are wares from reasonable price to very expensive one.
About 550shops stand on streets!!

This is a craft center in which you can find Hakata’s traditional craft art.
There are permanent exhibitions of Hakata-Ori textile, Hakata-Ningyo dolls and some other local traditional crafts.
